T/Th cast: Saturday, Nov. 2, 7:00 pm and Sunday, Nov. 3, 2:00 pm

PARENT MEETING DATE

The mandatory parent meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7pm in the HES cafeteria.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

M/W cast: Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 9 – Oct. 23.
T/Th cast: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 10 – Oct. 22.

Regular school days: 3:15 – 5:30 pm
ER days: 1:15 – 3:30 pm
Half days: 12:15 – 3:30 pm (none for this show)
Tech week, M/W cast: 3:15 – 5:00 pm
Tech week, T/Th cast: 5:30 – 7:00 pm

Oct. 24, 25, 28, 29, and 30 constitute tech week. Daily attendance on these days is mandatory.

Absences or early dismissals from rehearsal will not be allowed except in cases of emergency or illness.

Please have your children watch these rehearsal videos and practice their dances every day. It is easy for elementary-school children to forget choreography if it is not reinforced on a daily basis.

REHEARSAL SUPPLIES

All actors should bring the following to every rehearsal.

Script.
A healthy snack that can be eaten in 5 minutes without utensils; no peanut butter or other nut products, please!
Black, slip-on jazz shoes (not lace-up shoes), labeled with your child’s name. Here is an example of the type of shoe required. Please purchase them from a reputable local dance store so that your child’s shoes can be fitted properly. Dance shoe sizes are often different from a child’s regular shoe size. Three good local stores are Damien’s Dancewear (Chelmsford), Dancer’s Boutique (Fitchburg), and Dance This Way (Concord).
Please send your child with a reusable water bottle that does not leak even if tipped over, labeled with your child’s name. Here is an example of the type of bottle required.
Two sharpened pencils.
A packet of tissues.

MODESTY WEAR

All cast members will need modesty wear for dress rehearsals and performances. Modesty wear is due one month before the show (week of Oct. 1).

Girls

Nude leotard (This particular style of leotard tends to run small, so buy a size larger than you normally would. If you decide to get a different style, please don’t purchase one with adjustable straps! They pop off constantly, and we end up having to pin them in place.)
Bike shorts (White. If your actor is playing the Cat in the Hat, Horton, JoJo, Gertrude, or Mayzie and only has black, please contact Mrs. Hoch to see if that’s okay.)

Boys

White sleeveless undershirt
Bike shorts (White. If your actor is playing the Cat in the Hat, Horton, JoJo, Gertrude, or Mayzie and only has black, please contact Mrs. Hoch to see if that’s okay.)

All modesty wear should be labeled with the actor’s name. It should arrive in a plastic Ziploc bag, inside a reusable fabric bag. The fabric bag should be labeled on both sides with the actor’s name. The fabric bag will be used to store the actor’s street clothes during dress rehearsals and performances.
