About

Kate Hoch ran the HES theater program for 20 years. She built the program from the ground up and provided a safe and fun atmosphere for students to grow and learn in the performing arts. She saw hundreds of students grow up through her program, and is so proud of all they have accomplished. Superstar Productions is so proud of the quality of theater they are able to provide for the students and for the audiences.

In 2021, Kate passed the torch onto a Performing Artist and Educator to take over the program. Kelly Elwood will now be leading the charge.

Kelly Elwood worked with Kate in the past on Seussical and The Little Mermaid. She has a performing arts degree and has worked in the children’s musical theater industry for the past 10 years.

Kelly has experience in directing, music directing and choreographing shows. She has worked with hundreds of students throughout the years. She has so much fun working with students in musical theater and can’t wait to bring that energy and excitement to HES.

Superstar’s mission is offer instruction and performance opportunities to children 6-11 in a safe and nurturing environment.

Students who participate in a Superstar show receive professional instruction in voice, dance, and acting as they prepare for the production. Custom staging, sets, costumes, sound, and lighting give participants a true theatre experience.
